Remember all members that switch to accredited green and help cool the planet will receive our COOL Dinosaur Designed Green Footprint Key ring, valued at $50 for free. I have quite a few waiting to be collected/sent. Email me now if you have green energy and are a member.

2) WFCA has the pleasure to host two great events in March -
March 9th- Ruth Rosenhek, Director of Rainforest Information Centre (RIC), presents a fascinating discussion on the role(s) public and personal denial, helplessness and despair play in the fight against climate change. Please join us at the North Bondi Surf Club, I Campbell Parade, for the presentation. Entry by donation $2-$20 to cover costs, 7-8.30pm. In conjunction with Climate Action Bondi (www.climateactionbondi.com.au)

These events will be fun and interesting. March 22nd has already attracted the interest of many media groups, membership support would be highly valued.

3) WFCA School Climate Change Awareness Programme -
WFCA is very proud to announce that it is starting it’s school programme to assist in increasing awareness of Climate Change and Sustainability in member’s schools. A number of members have already expressed support for this initiative and although it is extremely embryonic I would like to hold two meetings in order to accommodate those of you that work and those that do not. Please rsvp as soon as possible to dani@wfca.org.au for attendance on Monday March 26th at 8 Lawson street, Bondi Junction at 10am or 7pm. The aim is to develop procedures and templates that individuals can adopt to take to their local schools.
4) Advocating WWF Earth Hour March 31st - Don’t be the only one left with the lights on!!!
WFCA continues to advocate and support WWF’s Earth Hour initiative, where Sydney will turn off it’s lights for one hour on March 31st from 7.30-8.30pm. Many businesses, councils (Sydney, North Sydney,Woollahra, Waverley,Parramatta), restaurants (Rockpool, The Establishment, Buzo’s) and schools (St Catherines, Scots College Prep) to name just a few are supporting this and will be turning off the lights. Please do your bit, have a candle lit gas barbeque or join a candle lit street party. But don’t be the odd one out and left with you lights on, as the Fairfax Group have hired a satellite to take photos………
5) WFCA had the pleasure of attending...
Climate Action Bondi’s event at the Bondi Pavilion on February 10th, which saw people clamouring for our Green Footprint Key rings. We also had a very fun drinks evening on February 21st at the Bellevue Hotel. Over 20 people attended for a fun and inspirational night, and most went home as happy green footprint keyring owners.
6) A number of important articles have been uploaded onto the website on the Climate Change page.
Please take the time to read some of the articles.
A reminder to everyone……..quote Robyn Williams……………………“Do it your way, but just do it”
please contribute and not make this the “Inconvenient Truth”.
