WFCA 'It's Cool to be Seen to be Green'
October 2006
WFCA is a non profit organisation designed and run by women to increase awareness of climate change and sustainability.
The primary goal will be to go carbon neutral. The WFCA will target three sectors, being individual households, small businesses as well as schools. In each instance WFCA will be seeking to increase awareness of CO2 emissions and adapt behaviour, resulting in an immediate and definable reduction in CO2 emissions This is our . Depending on the speed of transition,WFCA will have the scope to broaden its education initiative to other related areas, such as recycling; improved waste management; toxicity levels in foodstuffs; and any other topics involving improved sustainability for our environment. WFCA will also directly support and assist the WWF's One Living Planet and Futuremakers Programmes.
The WFCA process will incorporate fun events such as cocktail parties, coffee mornings and any other group gatherings as the forum to educate individuals, employing the services of like minded organisations such as WWF, NECO, Climate Friendly as the educators and conduit to behaviour change. It is intended that high profile presenters as well as the invitees will raise awareness of WFCA and climate change.
Incentives such as photographic and editorial pieces on the most recently converted eco friendly houses will be sought in home style and home renovation magazines. The evolution of WFCA will also see the development of recycled WFCA shopping bags.
The WFCA's platform is firmly based on the belief that individuals can make a difference to reduce greenhouse emissions and improve sustainability.
Moreover, as a group WFCA will represent a meaningful organisation which can help effect change in the community. Our cornerstone is that women are the carers, nurturers and major household decision makers. They also have a deep moral responsibility to protect and provide for their children and future generations. Recognition and realisation that acting to improve sustainability for humanity does not result in deprivation is a central platform. Moreover WFCA fundamentally believes we all need to act now and work together as individuals, small businesses, corporates and governments in order to arrest the damaging impact of climate change.
Yours Sincerely

Danielle Ecuyer
President WFCA
